“Our belief system is part of our programming”

The idea is not to replace an old belief with a new one, but to eradicate it altogether. Our thought patterns and belief systems keep us in relationships and social dynamics that we foster throughout our lives; these relationships and social dynamics can turn toxic and cyclical as a result of our own thought patterns and belief systems. Creating a new and better life starts with acknowledging what needs to be changed within ourselves. The new and improved thought process will not create desired changes if our underlying belief system remains. The underlying belief system will undermine our ability to make changes since it is rooted in our vision of who we are, what we are capable of and what we deserve to have, among other things.

Everything, from the type of partners we choose, the friends we attract, the type of parents or spouses we become, and the situations we find ourselves in such as staying in abusive relationships, abusing children, and picking toxic friends, is explored and explained in this book because our patterns shape all of these relationships and feed our need or desire to remain in these relationships.
